Based in Stockholm, Our Legacy has amassed a cult following, known to exist in the junction between familiar and irregular, with reworked yet recognisable silhouettes.
For the Fall 21 ready-to-wear collection, creative director, Christopher Nying takes us to his hometown of Husqvarna, Sweden. Inspired by the colliding worlds of teenage boarding-school kids with the local punk scene.
Describing the collection as "conservatism inverted", Nying does what he does best and the runway show is filled with 'traditional' pieces, re-interpreted in innovative fabrications and construction.
Nying brings punk and prep together by coating classic trench coat silhouettes to look like leather, slash and re-stich college sweatshirts and has treated luxe knitwear to look worn in. Every piece in the collection is made to be shaped by its wearer, softening and naturally distressing over time.
